A highly anticipated cocktail bar is coming to the east side of Detroit.

The new concept called Father Forgive Me is planned for the space that used to be the garage of The Shepherd, a former church that has been transformed into a cultural arts center in the Little Village. The bar, “a playful tribute to the Shepherd’s previous life,” will be adjacent to ALEO, a boutique bed-and-breakfast.

The team behind the new concept is Anthony Curis and Joe Robinson, also the partners behind downtown Detroit’s Standby, Deluxx Fluxx and The Skip.

Father Forgive Me, touting “divine drinks” in a “sacred space,” will be an intimate cocktail and wine bar. The interior will be designed by Holly Jonsson Studio. It will also incorporate the outdoor spaces of The Shepherd.

Father Forgive Me is expected to open in spring 2025. Follow on Instagram @FatherForgiveMeDet for updates.
