After 25 years operating a single location, Aga’s Restaurant & Catering is preparing to expand. The family-owned business will debut Aga’s To Go, a takeout-focused concept, on June 24.
Aga’s Restaurant Expands with Its First New Location in 25 Years

The new 4,300-square-foot restaurant will open its doors at The Shoppes at Grand Crossing development. Aga’s takeout location is at 102 W. Grand Parkway S., Suite 100, between Interstate 10 and the Grand Parkway in Katy.
Aga’s To Go is a new concept that’s different from the brand’s already-established restaurant in Houston. The expansion comes in response to growing demand from customers in Katy and nearby communities. Many of these diners have long traveled significant distances to visit the original location.
Zain Maredia, Aga’s head of growth and strategy, said, “Many of our guests make a considerable drive to enjoy Aga’s, and we’re excited to bring our food closer to them while creating new opportunities for our team and our company. Katy has been one of our strongest customer bases for years, making it a natural next step as we continue to grow.”
The opening is part of the company’s broader expansion strategy. The brand is also set to open a second takeout-only restaurant early in 2027.
In recent years, Aga’s has earned international acclaim, including being named No. 1 on the Houston Chronicle’s Top 100 Restaurants list. The restaurant has also appeared on Yelp’s Top 100 Restaurants list, earned recognition from The New York Times, and was recently featured by Food & Wine in coverage of Houston’s dining scene.

A Closer Look at Aga’s Award-Winning Cuisine

Since its establishment in 2001, Aga’s Restaurant & Catering has served a 100% zabiha halal menu and authentic Indian and Pakistani cuisine.
In 2010, Aga’s was purchased by the Maredia family. It has become one of Texas’s most famous restaurant chains. Led by CEO Shaukat Maredia and brothers Karim, Saleem, and Sadique Maredia, the company expanded its catering services and transformed the Houston flagship into a 16,200-square-foot restaurant.
The restaurant’s signature lamb chops, several types of kababs and boti specialties, rich curries, freshly baked breads, and flavorful biryanis are all part of the menu highlights. The new restaurant’s menu will include 108 items, with an emphasis on customer favorites.
Aga’s is also known for its hospitality and community engagement. The brand is in its fifth year of providing scholarships to graduating high school seniors pursuing higher education.
This year alone, Aga’s awarded $100,000 in scholarships to 25 students throughout the Greater Houston area.
Aga’s To Go serves as a major step for the restaurant group, paving the way for future expansion as well. With its first expansion in 25 years, Aga’s is extending its reach to customers in Katy and the western Houston area.
