Blue Tuba will close at the end of the month after roughly two years in business. The Euro-Tex fusion restaurant is expected to close by the end of the month. David LaDuca, a Houston-based singer, shared the closure news on Facebook.
Blue Tuba is Closing After Just 2 Years in Houston Heights
Operated by Czech natives Vlado Kolenic and Giga Leszayova, Blue Tuba opened in May 2024. Located at 350 W 19th Street, the restaurant opened in the former Harold’s in the Heights space.
The restaurant is popularly known for serving authentic European comfort foods and a relaxed dining experience. The space features a cozy indoor dining room and a rooftop terrace, along with a pet-friendly patio.
Recommended items on the menu include Chicken Paprikash, Hungarian Goulash, and Czech Cauliflower Fritters. The restaurant also hosts live music and occasional performances by executive chef Vlado Kolenic.
A Houston-based singer, David LaDuca, announced the closure with a social media post. The restaurant has not issued an official announcement or specified any reason for its upcoming closure.

David LaDuca Shares Final Weeks Schedule Ahead of Closure
According to David LaDuca’s announcement, “Well, they say nothing good lasts forever. I’m so sad to say that Blue Tuba will close its doors at the end of the month.”
LaDuca further extended an invitation to the Houston community to visit the restaurant before its final closure. “Please join me for the next two weekends! A HUGE thank you to Giga & Vlado for their generosity, hospitality, and most of all, friendship,” said the singer.
He added that he will perform Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and during Sunday brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Even though Blue Tuba has been operational for a brief period, it has made its way into the hearts of the community.
