A Mediterranean restaurant is set to close its Houston Heights location this month. Al Quick Stop is shutting down the Houston Heights location after five years of service. The restaurant will serve its final dinner on Sunday, August 23, according to the social media closure announcement.
Al Quick Heights Restaurant Bids Farewell
A family-owned Houston restaurant, Al Quick Stop, is popularly known for serving authentic Mediterranean cuisine with a Houston twist. The Houston Heights location was established in 2021, and it was the first standalone restaurant of the chain.
The menu combines Middle Eastern street food with Texas and Mexican influences. Menu offerings include shawarma tacos, gyro nachos, and other fusion dishes. The restaurant operates in a fast-casual format.
Through an Instagram post, the restaurant team shared that the Houston Heights location will shutter on Sunday, August 23. In the closure post, the restaurant explained that it has decided not to renew the lease for the location.
Talking about the restaurant’s journey, the team wrote, “Serving the Heights community has been an amazing experience, and I’ve learned so much along the way.”
The team thanked the community for supporting the restaurant for the last five years of operation. The post invited customers to visit before the restaurant’s final day of service.

Montrose Location Will Continue to Serve
Founded by Toufic “Zak” Elssadi in 1991, Al Quick Stop began as a convenience store and deli in Montrose. Currently, the restaurant is operated by Mohamad Elsaadi.
Located at 2002 Waugh Drive in Houston, Texas, Al Quick Stop will continue to serve the community. The convenience store will offer customers the popular fusion menu items, snacks, and drinks. “AL Quick Stop favorites for pickup or delivery whenever you need it,” added the team.
As the restaurant wraps up its operations, Al Quick Stop hopes to celebrate its final days with the community.
