Carrabba’s Italian Grill is embarking on a major development in Tomball. According to a Texas Department of Licening and Regulation permit, Carrabas Italian Grill is expected to open in The Grand at 249 Shopping Center at 13215 N. Grand Parkway W.

The permit details that the $2.75 million construction project is slated to start this June and wrap up in March 2027. If all goes well with the 5,242 square-foot ground-up restaurant construction and permitting, we can expect the new Greater Houston region Carrabba’s Italian Grill to be open by next Spring.

Carrabba’s Italian Grill has already made an impact on the Texas market with nearly 20 locations in the area. The chain has a strong presence in the state, particularly around Houston, where original locations can be found. The new location to come to The Grand at 249 Shopping Center will be the first one in Tomball.

Carrabba’s Italian Grill was founded in Houston in 1986 by Sicilian-Texan duo Johnny Carrabba III and his uncle Damian Mandola. The restaurant is built on family recipes and tradition. This concept, along with a wood-fire grill theme, helped the brand grow from the two original Houston locations to a national chain under Bloomin’ Brands. There are now more than 200 Carrabba’s Italian Grill restaurants in the country, with a good proportion of those eateries actually in Florida.

Though the corporate chain may have expanded, Bloomin’ Brands maintained a focus on traditional Italian-American cuisine.

“Food is what reminded us we were family,” the Carrabba’s Italian Grill website reads.

“To this day, whenever one family member meets another and starts talking about something or someplace, the first question has to be, ‘Whadya eat?'”

What Now Houston reached out to Bloomin’ Brands, Adam Shoolbred, who was also listed on the permit, but we did not hear back by the time of this publication.

But, we’re sure more details about this exciting, and rather expensive, new addition to the community will come to light as we inch closer towards next year’s opening. So keep your eyes locked on the brand’s social media pages and your ears perked for the latest.

Carrabba’s Italian Grill is anticipated to open in The Grand at 249 Shopping Center at 13215 N. Grand Parkway W by Spring 2027.
