Pizaro’s Pizza is heating up for another Greater Houston region opening. According to a recently filed Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation permit, the new take-out-only pizzeria is planned to open in the Meyerland neighborhood within the North Braes Shopping Center at 9150 Chimney Rock Ste 50.
The permit further details that construction is slated to start in November of this year and is expected to wrap up by the end of March 2027. If all goes well with permitting and the estimated $120,000 construction project, the new Pizaro’s Pizza should open by next Spring.
Pizaro’s Pizza co-owner Brad Bean shared with What Now Houston that, unlike the currently open Pizaro’s Pizza locations, the new storefront set to come to Meyerland will be a to-go facility, and there will not be the brand’s iconic Neapolitan pizza for sale on the menu.
“We’re all about quality, and we know that the Neapolitan is not going to travel well,” Bean said in a quick interview with What Now.
However, Bean did confirm that both New York and Detroit pizzas will still be served, with the possibility of others in the near future.
Its flagship and second location also offer New York-style and Detroit-style pan pizza. But the popular pizzeria didn’t always offer the last two.
Believe it or not, the highly esteemed pizza eatery was born out of a hobby. Bean’s father, Bill Hutchinson, started making pizzas in 2009. But not just any ol’ pizza — authentic Naples-style pizza.
A certification from the “Verace Pizza Napoletana” and making multiple trips to Italy, Bill, his son Matt, and wife Gloria opened Pizaro’s Pizza Napoletana in a small shopping center in Memorial.
It wouldn’t be until 2013 that Bill’s daughter, Nicole, and her husband, Brad, would join the team, helping them open their flagship location in Montrose in 2015. The location would be the family’s first to dish up the three styles it now offers.
Coming hot off an upcoming opening at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport, the brand continues to expand its footprint across the region.
Pizaro’s Pizza is anticipated to open in the Meyerland neighborhood within the North Braes Shopping Center at 9150 Chimney Rock Ste 50, by Spring 2027.
