Einstein Bros Bagels is coming to the San Jacinto Marketplace. According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation permit, the new Einstein Bros Bagels is expected to open in Baytown at 6609 Garth Rd., Suite 200.
The booming brand recently announced the execution of five additional commercial real estate leases, including the new Baytown location, according to QSR. The new Baytown Einstein Bros Bagels is slated to sit at around 2,000 square feet. With each new leased store sitting at around 2,000 square feet per store, the five leases add 9,548 square feet to Einstein Bros. Bagels’ Houston-area footprint.
The permit for the new San Jacinto Marketplace Einstein Bros Bagels details that construction is currently underway and should wrap up by November. If all goes well with permitting and the estimated $350,000 construction project, the new Einstein Bros Bagels should open by this winter.
What Now Houston reached out to the Chief Operating Officer for the brand’s parent company, Bagel Brands, Adam Modzel, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
Einstein Bros Bagels has become widely known and loved throughout the world for its unique bagel offerings featuring everything from blueberry to cheddar jalapeno. In the 1990s, the company bought out several retail bagel chains from regions around the US that lacked bagel traditions. After filing for bankruptcy in 2000, the company was bought out by New World Coffee. It became part of Panera Brands in August 2021. There are now at least 740 Einstein Bros locations across the country. Texas has the highest concentration, with more than a hundred locations.
