After eight years of service, Fire Ant Brewing Company prepares to shut its doors. The brewpub at 308 Market Street in Tomball, Texas, will serve its last drink on May 17, 2026. The owners of the brewery shared the closure news on social media and announced their retirement plans.

Fire Ant Brewpub Set to Close This May

Bruce Kissinger founded the Fire Ant Brewing Company to create a welcoming gathering spot in Tomball. The brewpub has long served as a neighborhood gathering place for craft beer and casual dining.

The brewery is known for its German-style beers and bar food menu, including burgers and other pub-style dishes. The signature beer series includes Hell’s Heavenweizen, Cream Ale, and Fire Ant Gold. Recommended items on the bar food menu are the Pimento Cheeseburger, Giant Pretzel, and Schnitzel sandwich.

In a Facebook post, Bruce, Sylvia, and Guy, owners of the brewpub, announced the closure news.

In a Facebook post, the owners wrote, “With full hearts and a mix of emotions, we want to share something with you all. After eight unforgettable years, Fire Ant Brewpub will be closing its doors the evening of Sunday, May 17th, 2026.”

The owners thanked the community for their support, “Thank you for every visit, every laugh, and every moment you chose to spend with us over the past 8 years.”

They also noted: “To our staff, our incredible team, you were the heartbeat, the steady hands during the rush; we are family. We are so thankful for you all.”

Owners Retiring Prompt Closure

According to the official announcement post, the owners of the brewpub are planning to take retirement and spend more time with their families.

“As Bruce and I step into retirement (which we are incredibly grateful for and know is well deserved), we do so carrying nothing but gratitude. We are also looking forward to slowing down and spending more time with our family, especially our granddaughter (our littlest Fire Ant crew member), who is growing up so fast and soaking in these moments that we will never get back,” the post read.

The owners also reflected on the connection built with the community over the years. They highlighted, “The friendships we have built, the memories we have shared, and the community that formed within these walls mean more to us than we could ever put into words.”

As the brewpub enters its final weeks, the owners encourage the community to visit and have one last drink in the brewery.

“Please come see us between now and our last day, Sunday, May 17th, so we can share one more smile, one more conversation, and one more toast together,” shared the owners.

With Fire Ant Brewpub closing, Tomball will lose a longtime neighborhood gathering spot.
