Nordstrom Rack is expanding its reach in the Greater Houston region. According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation permit, the new Nordstrom Rack is planned for Katy, within the Shoppes at Park West, at 24600 Katy Fwy #100.
The permit further details that construction on the new Katy Nordstrom Rack is expected to start in mid-January of next year and is slated to wrap up by mid-August 2027. If all goes well with permitting and the estimated $250,000 construction project, the new Nordstrom Rack should open by next summer.
What Now Houston reached out to Fanya Chandler, President at Nordstrom Stores, to find out more about the exciting new development. Unfortunately, we did not hear back by the time of this publication.
“We’re all about delivering great brands at great prices—up to 70% off great-looking clothes, shoes, and accessories, plus awesome décor for your home,” the Nordstrom Rack website reads.
“Also awesome: 90% of the brands offered at Rack are the very same brands you’ll find at Nordstrom—with new trends, styles, and staples delivered weekly.”
Nordstrom Rack was founded by the Nordstrom company in 1973 as an off-price clearance division of the main department store. The brand was created by Nordstrom, Inc., which was originally founded in 1901 by John W. Nordstrom and Carl F. Wallin.
Nordstrom Rack opened its first location in 1973 in the basement of the downtown Seattle Nordstrom store. Established to sell clearance and excess inventory from full-line Nordstrom stores at a discount, the brand continued to blossom. There are now nearly 300 Nordstrom Rack stores operating in the United States, with 27 of those in Texas. The opening coming to the Shoppes at Park West in Katy would be the company’s fifth active location in Houston.
Nordstrom Rack is anticipated to open in Katy, within the Shoppes at Park West, at 24600 Katy Fwy #100 in 2027.
