Herman Miller is set to make its Jacksonville debut, with plans for its first local store at St. Johns Town Center.
The renowned furniture brand will be located at 4818 River City Drive according to the Jacksonville Business Journal.
According to the media outlet, the city issued a permit in July to divide an existing 4,425-square-foot storefront, creating a 2,400-square-foot retail space for Herman Miller while the remaining space will be used for Town Center storage. A separate permit application to build out the new store is also under review.
For more than a century, Herman Miller has been known for furniture that blends form and function. From ergonomic office chairs to modern home furnishings, the company’s pieces have found their way into homes, offices and creative spaces around the world.
Along the way, collaborations with influential designers such as Charles and Ray Eames, George Nelson and Isamu Noguchi helped establish the brand as a leader in modern furniture design.
There’s been no indication as to when the store will open.
