Born in New York City and a Las Vegas favorite for two decades, Hogs & Heifers Saloon closed its doors in July. It was a bittersweet 20-year anniversary for what had long been a Las Vegas nightlife institution.
Coverage of the closure published by the Las Vegas Review-Journal back in May painted a vivid picture of a night at Hogs & Heifers:
“A bartender in black booty shorts with silver bondage clamps and a matching crop top pours two shots of ‘watermelon moonshine.’ Her sidekick then grabs a megaphone and shouts, ‘Clear the bar!’ Drinks are quickly pulled, ashtrays plucked away. The bartender climbs to the bartop and fiercely ‘clogs’ to a medley kicked off by Toby Keith’s ‘Courtesy of the Red White and Blue (The Angry American).’”
Whether you’ve experienced Hogs & Heifers already or are just hoping to one day, there’s good news: the saloon has secured a new site at 307-319 Main St., the former Old Lincoln Hotel property. It’s expected to open there between March and summer of 2026.
The new location will cover the entire half-acre property, including not only the bar but also an outdoor event center.
If March 2026 seems too far away, take courage! Hogs & Heifers is also planning to open an interim popup in the location very soon, owner Michelle Dell told What Now last week. Through this popup, Hogs & Heifers will continue to maintain its brand presence and its community life, along with special event programming, with events like the Patriots’ Day Parade, the St. Patrick’s Day Firefighter Fun Games, and the Punk Rock Hoedown.
