Bad Ass Coffee has already made a huge impression in the Valley, and is planning to continue those efforts with the opening of two locations this year, one at 2590 St. Rose Parkway in Henderson and another at 1820 E. Craig Road in North Las Vegas.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Las Vegas Valley aka the Ninth Island, is set to see Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii open the Henderson location in October and the North Las Vegas location by January 2026.

What Now Las Vegas spoke with the franchisee behind the expansion, Zar Zanganeh, who shared that he plans to open the Henderson location in the next 30 days, so closer to mid-November, and North Las Vegas in 90 days, at the tail end of January 2026, with the intention of opening a fourth and fifth location sometime next year.

The two new locations will offer all of the Bad Ass Coffee classics, including Bad Ass lattes, baked goods, Koffee Koolers, smoothies, cold brew, hot classics, and cold classics, to name a few.

Zanganeh, who also runs a real estate conglomerate out of Beverly Hills with the guys from the Housewives of Beverly Hills and Million Dollar Listing, has been running franchises with his family since working in fast food restaurants as a high schooler sparked his ingenuity for running fast food chains. Since then, he’s owned 12-13 restaurants spanning from eateries like Quiznos to Taco Time.

He’s now approaching the third anniversary of opening his first Bad Ass Coffee off of Charleston.

“I saw the building and thought it would be a great place for a coffee shop, so that’s how I originally came to know Bad Ass coffee. I had seen it when I originally came to Hawaii, and then when I found this building, I thought, ‘we should have a coffee shop there,’” Zanganeh said.

The realtor saw the location listed and reached out to Bad Ass Coffee CEO, Scott Snyder, to get the ball rolling on opening the first drive-through Bad Ass Coffee in the Valley.

“I reached out to a few coffee brands, and they all seemed to love the location. But, I didn’t like the quality of any of their coffees,” Zanganeh said.

“Then I came across Bad Ass, and it was the first time I drank coffee, and I didn’t have that big aftertaste, heartburn afterwards. Then I started to fall not only in love with the product but also the culture, all the way down to the name.”

According to its website, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii was born in 1989 on the shores of the Big Island, Hawaii. The goal: to share American-grown, premium Hawaiian coffee from Kauai, Waialua (Oahu), Maui, and 100% Kona coffee with coffee lovers everywhere. Since then, it’s grown to serve Bad Ass Coffee at 40 locations in several states, including California, Florida, and Nevada.

As for the name, well, according to this franchise pamphlet, the legend of the namesake goes back to the hard-working donkeys of Kona, Hawaii.

“These aptly named ‘Bad Ass Ones’ were strong and reliable as they carried their heavy loads of precious beans down the steep mountains. Bad Ass Coffee honors this heritage by embodying their determined spirit in everything we do, and we continue their legacy by welcoming ambitious franchisees like you into our ‘ohana (family),” the pamphlet reads.

Now the brand is bringing yet another Bad Ass Coffee to the Valley, which has the largest population of Hawaiians outside of Hawaii, with plans to open many more locations.

“It seemed like a no-brainer,” Zanganeh said.

Espresso machines from Italy are on the way, and the signage at the St. Rose location should appear in the next two to three weeks. While that Henderson location, set to open soon, will be drive-through only, the North Las Vegas opening on E. Craig Road will have a cafe.

“It will be exciting to have people that we’re able to welcome,” Zanganeh said.

The fourth and fifth locations, which Zanganeh intends to open sometime next year, will also have a cafe. He’s currently looking at Spring Valley/West Las Vegas for the fourth location and is eyeing Skye Canyon for the seventh or eighth location he intends to open in a few years.

You might actually see a Bad Ass Coffee pop up where a Starbucks used to be. Zanganeh shared that he’s working on securing a couple of sites where Starbucks locations have recently closed.

In the meantime, his focus is on getting the Henderson and North Las Vegas locations up and running with plans to hire local Hawaiians, hold free coffee days for first responders, and continue to donate to a charity that supports rescue donkeys. After all, the company mascot is the jackass.

Catch the grand opening of Bad Ass Coffee in Henderson at 2590 St. Rose Parkway sometime in November, and the  Bad Ass Coffee in North Las Vegas at 1820 E. Craig Road by the end of January 2026.
