El Monarca Mexican Grill is embarking on bringing a little bit of Mexico City to Sin City. A city permit details that the new Mexican eatery will open at 439 Rock Quarry Way.

What Now Las Vegas spoke with owner, Brandon Rivera, who confirmed the opening but said that he no longer plans to open a brick-and-mortar El Monarca Mexican Grill at the Rock Quarry Way location. Well, at least not in the immediate future.

“I was actually hoping to open a location there. But now I’m going to. Just use the food trailer,” Rivera said.

The Mexico City restaurateur plans to open a food truck early this year. You can expect to see El Monarca Mexican Grill roaming around the city, as to where, that has to be decided.

El Monarca Mexican Grill does not yet have a website or social media pages. With no online presence, there are few details on the food offerings.

“We’re from Mexico City, and we’re trying to bring new things that are getting really popular there,” Rivera said.

Rivera did, however, share that the food truck will offer a smaller version of the Al Pastor Roll. Rivera said that the dish has become really popular in Mexico City, and he plans to bring it to the Valley, but on a smaller scale. Cooking up and dishing out personal al pastor rolls for purchase.

Rivera also shared that the El Monarca Mexican Grill food truck will also serve tacos and other authentic Mexican dishes.
