Las Vegas’s first-ever Caribbean Haitian restaurant is gearing up for a grand opening in the University District. Haiti Kitchen will offer a variety of dishes drawing from Haitian cuisine, with a grand opening planned for next month in suite 15 at 4632 Maryland Pkwy.

What Now Las Vegas confirmed in a Thursday phone call with Fritzbert Edmonis, co-owner of the restaurant with his brother, Flobert Edmonis.

The restaurant’s menu features appetizers like Fried Plantains, Popcorn Shrimp, and Marinad (seasoned fish dumpling fritters). Entrees include stews with proteins like chicken and oxtail, Fried Red Snapper, and Griot, cooked-and-then-fried morsels of pork.

Guests can round off their meals with one of a variety of sweet beverages like Citronnade or Coconut Soda, and, for dessert, Gateau (a zesty Haitian cake) or Labouyi Bannann, a tasty plantain porridge.

The Maryland Pkwy location is situated just north of University Rd, to the south of which lies a large cluster of dining locations, including Ike’s Love & Sandwiches, Rivas Mexican Grill, and Sushi Joe’s.
