Sbarro is working on another Las Vegas Valley opening with help from the local franchisee, LV Petroleum Food Services. According to a recently filed City of Las Vegas permit, the Italian fast-food chain is expected to open in Charleston Heights within the Charleston & Mohawk Conoco travel center at 5340 W Charleston Blvd.
“Sbarro is a fast-casual pizza chain best known for large New York–style slices: thin, foldable crust topped with tomato sauce and melted cheese, with options like pepperoni. It’s often served by the slice, so it’s a quick, filling meal,” LV Petroleum Senior Vice President of Food and Franchise Brands, Jeanette Davis, said in an interview with What Now Las Vegas.
“Good food, great guest service, and delicious food! We will also be heavily involved in the communities we open in.”
The company has a long-standing partnership with Sbarro, opening franchisees throughout the Las Vegas Valley.
“We are developing several brands all around Vegas,” Davis said.
Founded in 1956 by Neapolitan immigrants Gennaro and Carmela “Mama” Sbarro, Sbarro first opened as an Italian salumeria in New York. After Carmela’s pizza slices became a massive hit with shift workers, the family pivoted to a dedicated pizza and Italian fast-food model. There are now more than 800 Sbarro locations worldwide across 27 countries, with more than 300 of those in the US alone.
Top states include California, Florida, and Ohio. Nevada has just 15 locations sprawled across the state, with the majority in Las Vegas, including one inside the Fashion Show Mall on the Strip.
What Now also reached out to Sbarro CEO David Karam for more details about the upcoming opening, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
