Situated on Windmill Lane between Bermuda Road and Amigo Street, Windmill Lane Plaza is a small shopping center that houses restaurants like Opulicious, Rivas Mexican Grill, and Fish King Grill. It will also soon be home to the first brick-and-mortar restaurant from Straight Up Cafe, a brand offering a selection of Hawaiian dishes and desserts.
Straight Up first debuted as a food truck in 2018, owner Tanya told What Now in a phone call on Tuesday, offering Hawaiian barbecue and dessert at small special events around Las Vegas. Now, the brand is emerging into the post-pandemic world with its first brick-and-mortar restaurant.
“We did okay through COVID,” Tanya said. “We were more about smaller special events. It was a hobby for us.”
Opening early next year, Straight Up Cafe will be offering its Hawaiian cuisine full-time, operating from 10 a.m. 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. The details of the brick-and-mortar’s menu are not yet available, but thus far Straight Up has offered dishes like a Crab Plate, a Poke Bowl, and a Kalua Pig Plate, along with cakes and other desserts.
Keep an eye out for this Hawaiian Barbecue brand opening in Paradise in Q1 of 2023!
