After a delay, Sunrise Market is open for business on Windmill Pkwy in Henderson. Originally expected to open in January, the market-plus-restaurant, a partnership between owners Gus Khalaf and Sam Faranesh, has opened its doors at last and is now serving up a range of Mediterranean foods and groceries.
With fresh produce, a deli, and a butcher shop, Sunrise Market totals about 10,000 sq. ft. The grocery’s aisles are stocked with items from around the globe, with specialty items from a number of different cuisines; these include a wide variety of rice, flour, and oils, plus a selection of Indian and Pakistani grocery goods. The bakery offers Bulgarian sweet bread and other baked goods made fresh, and the butcher offers top-quality certified halal meats, including beef, lamb, poultry, and seafood.
Sunrise’s restaurant menu includes plates served with fries or rice, including the Beef Shawarma Plate, the Falafel Plate, and the Kafta Kebab Plate. Wraps and pita pockets also feature falafel and chicken and beef shawarma, which go great with salads like Tabbouleh or Fattoush Salad. Also on offer are tasty sides like hummus and a baba ghanoush, plus baklava for dessert.
Sunrise Market is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, located at 2630 Windmill Pkwy, across the street from Tengoku Sushi.
