With a reputation not only for its coffee but for its striking food menu and bakery (with popular gluten-free and vegan options), Las Vegas’s own The Coffee Class is continuing to expand with new possibilities. This time, the brand is headed to Henderson’s Water Street District.
The new Coffee Class opening at 37 S Water Street this January takes things to a whole new level—to three levels, in fact. Serving as the brand’s flagship, the new location will occupy three stories: at the top, a rooftop for weekend brunch and special events (bar included); on the second floor, a new whiskey bar concept that is still under development and is expected to open a little later, in March. And on the ground floor: The Coffee Class.
“It’s really more of a bistro than a traditional coffee shop,” CEO Kyle Cunningham told What Now on Friday. “You’ll walk in through the front door and see a full pastry case, and there’s lots of indoor and outdoor seating.”
It’s different from any other Coffee Class location, but that’s part of the idea, says who Cunningham, who envisions “creating an experience that is unique to each location, but that also feels familiar. We don’t want to do a cut-and-paste corporate model.”
In this particular case, the location is so good it’s something one would hardly even imagine finding, Cunningham says.
“What I’m so excited about is the bones of the place. It’s very hard to find somewhere off the Strip where you can sit down and have great coffee and food, full brunch, a Strip view. There are very few places like that.”
Cunningham also sees the move as part of the work of revitalizing the Water Street District.
“It’s taking off, and it just need operators to invest. As a local, I’m excited to be involved in that revitalization. The potential is so high, and the people here are craving it.”
