American Eagle is preparing to open its fourth Las Vegas Valley location. According to a Facebook post from Las Vegas Premium Outlets-South, the global specialty apparel retailer plans to open inside the shopping center this fall. American Eagle is expected to open at 7400 Las Vegas Blvd S.
What Now Las Vegas reached out to President and Executive Creative Director Jennifer Foylen to find out more about the opening. Unfortunately, we did not hear back by the time of this publication.
“American Eagle Outfitters is a portfolio of beloved and enduring brands that empower every customer to celebrate their unique personal style by offering casual, comfortable, timeless outfitting and high-quality products that are made to last,” the American Eagle Outfitters website reads.
“We are taking purposeful actions to protect our planet, care for our people and operate with the highest level of integrity through the very best practices.”
American Eagle Outfitters was founded in 1977 by brothers Jerry and Mark Silverman as an outdoor and leisure wear brand under Silvermans Menswear. In 1980, the Silverman brothers sold a 50% stake in the company to the Schottenstein Stores Corporation due to struggles in their broader retail business. By the early ’90s, the Schottenstein family had bought out the remaining interest, shifting the brand away from rugged outdoor gear and repositioning it as a casual, all-American teen fashion and denim brand. In 1994, the company went public with an initial public offering on NASDAQ under the symbol “AEOS.”
The brand gained mainstream pop-culture prominence in 1991 as the official outfitter of the TV show Dawson’s Creek. The company began expanding internationally into Canada and opened its New York Design Center in Manhattan in 2001.
There are now 802 corporate-operated American Eagle brand stores. Six are in Nevada, including three in the Las Vegas Valley.
American Eagle is anticipated to open in the Las Vegas Premium Outlets-South at 7400 Las Vegas Blvd S this fall.
