The Whisky Hotel is taking shape in Hollywood at 1717 Wilcox Ave. and is expected to open next year, according to a project representative.
The themed concept by restaurateur, hotelier, and television host Adolfo Suaya will rise seven stories and include 134 rooms, as well as features including a rooftop restaurant and bar.
It broke ground last year after securing $35 million in funding from Bank Hapoalim. “The Whisky Hotel aims to carve a niche in the growing whiskey tourism industry and plans to do so by providing a unique experience for connoisseurs and amateurs alike,” a spokesperson told What Now Los Angeles at the time.
The hotel will be billed as a fully immersive experience. Arriving guests will be served complimentary whiskey in the lobby – which itself will include a whiskey fountain – and have access to a whiskey sommelier on staff.
The business is one of a number founded by Suaya. The Argentine-American entrepreneur is also behind Southern California restaurants and bars including Gaucho Grill, Dolce, the Lodge, Osaka, and others.
