Rumi’s Kitchen has opened its newest location in Los Angeles. It marks the restaurant’s West Coast debut. The restaurant brings Persian cuisine and live-fire cooking to locals, adding to LA’s expanding culinary scene.
Rumi’s Kitchen Opens in Century City
Rumi’s Kitchen has officially opened in Century City at 10250 Santa Monica Boulevard, Suite 2010. It opened on September 23 on Level 2 of Westfield Century City, marking the Atlanta-born Persian restaurant’s debut on the West Coast. The opening also marks chef and founder Ali Mesghali’s return to Los Angeles, where he began cooking at Persian restaurants.
Rumi’s Kitchen first opened in Atlanta in 2006 and has since expanded to locations in Georgia, Washington, D.C., and Houston.
The Century City menu focuses on Persian cuisine and live-fire cooking over charcoal. Menu items include lamb lahmajun, kibbeh nayyeh, wagyu shish kebab, gormeh sabzi and lamb neck shawarma. The beverage program is another significant part of the concept, including wine, cocktails, beer, and doogh, along with house-made sodas.

Inside Rumi’s Kitchen in Century City
According to Eater LA, it has approximately 310 seats, an open kitchen, indoor dining, and private dining spaces. It also has an outdoor area designed around the look of a Persian garden.
The design was developed by Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry, with Maryam Tabassian, who remains Rumi’s Kitchen’s director of design. The restaurant features a long porcelain-tiled entrance, a traditional Persian water fountain, and murals by Dean Barger Studios.
The restaurant also features black stone tables, large barrel-vaulted ceilings, sculptural chandeliers, and pomegranate and satsuma orange trees. The restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Rumi’s Kitchen brings its Persian-inspired menu and live-fire cooking to Los Angeles for the first time with this opening.
