A Sweden-based restaurant and gaming concept appears to be preparing for its Los Angeles debut in Echo Park. According to public filings, Kappa bar is planning a location at 1702 W. Sunset Blvd.

Kappa Bar opened its first restaurant in Gothenburg in 2016. The chain describes itself as a restaurant, bar, gaming, and sports venue.

What Now Los Angeles reached out to Felix LaHaye, listed in Kappa Bar Los Angeles LLC’s California registration filed in March 2026, to inquire about the opening timeline but did not receive a response before press time.

Its website lists Los Angeles and Houston as “coming soon” in North America, alongside locations across Sweden, France, and Copenhagen.

The application also requests extended operating hours: 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. the following day Friday through Sunday. The 2,447-square-foot space is planned to accommodate 60 indoor seats. The filing also lists tabletop video game consoles and board games. The menu included in the application lists pizzas, burgers, fries, and nonalcoholic beverages.

What Now Los Angeles previously reported on KBBQ Lounge, a proposed restaurant seeking city approval at 280 S. Rampart Blvd. The outlet also covered Breakfast Republic’s plans for the former Brite Spot at 1918 W. Sunset Blvd., and Slurpin’ Ramen’s arrival at 1489 Sunset Blvd.
