A new French café concept centered on elevated sandwiches and Parisian-inspired flavors may be coming to Sherman Oaks. According to public filings, Cornichon plans to open at 13702 W. Ventura Blvd.

The concept draws its identity from the French sandwich tradition, with carefully constructed, ingredient-forward creations.

What Now Los Angeles reached out to the applicant behind the project, Felix Lyubovny, to inquire about the opening timeline but did not hear back prior to press time.

According to public documents, the menu focuses on hot-pressed and classic French baguette sandwiches, with options ranging from jambon and Comté to prosciutto, smoked salmon, crispy chicken, and vegetarian combinations.

Sweet sandwiches, including chocolate with salted butter and mascarpone with jam, would also be available, along with pommes frites served with a choice of sauces.

The Ventura Boulevard address places Cornichon in one of the San Fernando Valley’s most active dining corridors.

What Now Los Angeles has previously covered the corridor’s growing activity, including Hapa Haus, a Hawaiian-leaning golf simulator restaurant and bar targeting a November opening; Yama Sushi, which recently expanded to 15300 Ventura Blvd.; and Sushi Tomoki, which filed plans for a second location at 14622 W. Ventura Blvd.
