Fine-dining restaurant Shabu in Seoul, which has multiple locations in South Korea, is planning its first foray into the U.S. Shabu in Seoul has chosen Los Angeles as its first U.S. site, with plans to open in Koreatown at 3807 W. Wilshire Blvd.

Shabu in Seoul offers a Korean-style take on Japanese shabu-shabu. The restaurant’s menu features various meat options, including pork belly and Wagyu ribeye, alongside signature broths including spicy mushroom, beef tomato and crab soybean paste. The menu also offers additional dishes, including risottos and rice.

3807 W. Wilshire Blvd is home to the newly constructed WilWest Apartments. Shabu in Seoul is seeking to open a 108-seat restaurant in a 5,012-square-foot space on the ground floor of the building.

A representative with the company confirmed the concept in a phone call with What Now Los Angeles but could not immediately provide further comment. As of now, an opening timeline has not been announced, but the team appears to be in the permitting stages with construction yet to come.

Permits indicate that when it opens, Shabu in Seoul will operate Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m.
