West Hollywood Japanese restaurant Soma Suisan closed its doors along La Cienega Boulevard in West Hollywood on July 26. However, it is slated to relocate to the fifth floor of the Ovation Hollywood at 6801 Hollywood Blvd C5-525, according to a recent ABC filing and an announcement from the brand.
Soma Suisan, based in Japan, has been supplying high-quality fish cuts to sushi bars across Japan for decades. It opened its first restaurant in Los Angeles in 2025.
The West Hollywood restaurant offered small plates such as steamed edamame, umaki and miso Brussel sprouts; salads; grilled seafood and steak; and various sushi rolls and sashimi. Soma Suisan is particularly known for its tuna selection. A sake-focused beverage program rounds out the menu.
Soma Suisan also offers omakase experiences, with tiered options starting at $98, according to the website.
