According to public filings, Planet Fitness plans to open at 3420 Wilshire Blvd. Planet Fitness is a gym chain known for its High Value, Low Price model and Judgement Free Zone philosophy, which aims to make fitness accessible to everyone, regardless of experience level.
The brand’s locations typically feature an extensive lineup of cardio and strength-training equipment. Black Card members also gain access to any of the chain’s more than 2,900 locations nationwide.
The project is linked to Supreme Fitness Group, one of the largest Planet Fitness franchisees in the country, which operates dozens of locations across California and the Southeast and is one of the brand’s most active development partners on the West Coast.
What Now Los Angeles reached out to representatives of Supreme Fitness Group, who confirmed that the company does not anticipate opening the location until late 2028. The project remains in its early stages, with variance approvals and other preliminary steps still underway.
While the Wilshire Boulevard location remains years away, several other Planet Fitness locations are opening across the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
“Planet Fitness is deeply invested in the Los Angeles community and dedicated to providing a fun, safe and affordable space where all Angelinos feel welcome and can prioritize their health and wellness,” the company representative told What Now Los Angeles.
Supreme Fitness Group celebrated the opening of its location at 2647 Foothill Blvd. in La Crescenta on October 8. Grand openings are also scheduled for October 12 at 1800 E. Avenue J in Lancaster East and October 30 at 27267 Newport Road in Menifee. A fourth location at 802 W. Beverly Blvd. in Montebello is expected to open in December.
