After four years of delighting Memphis residents, a playful bar with an unusual focus has renovation on the mind. Flip Side Pinball Bar has shut its doors, but fans and regulars shouldn’t fear; the concept will be coming back better than ever, reports Daily Memphian.

Ownership announced the temporary closure of the 1349 Autumn Avenue institution via social media. While some of the intended changes will be taking place behind the scenes, there are plenty of physical and operational alterations certain to make locals feel the reopening is worth the wait.

Flip Side will be getting an entirely new menu, which ownership describes, saying: “Get ready for all the amazing comfort food with some sweet and salty and deep fried favorites finally coming to Flip Side. And don’t worry we will still have a few salads for those of you who prefer a lighter fare.”

Flip Side’s changes will go beyond the culinary; visitors can look forward to new games-24 new pinball machines will be added to the roster, alongside “some new games you’ve never seen before.” The bar will be switching up the furniture as well, with “more high top tables and aisle space for the players to move around…”

Flip Side is also hoping to have the patio open by spring.

It’s not precisely clear just when, exactly, Flip Side will be welcoming guests to enjoy the new and improved experience, however the post states it should be ready by early 2026. The bar promises to keep visitors up to date on its Facebook page, so be sure to follow along for all the news that’s fit to print.
