Chick-fil-A Temporarily Closes Popular Midtown Spot for a Major Makeover

Union Ave. location is closed for renovations and will reopen this fall with refreshed dining, new seating, and improved patio and parking.

A renowned and popular chicken joint is getting a fresh new look.

The Chick-fil-A location at 1980 Union Ave. in Midtown temporarily closed on May 29 for renovations.

“We are pleased to share that Chick-fil-A Union Avenue is currently undergoing a remodel and is expected to reopen this Fall, pending any delays. The renovated restaurant will feature both interior and exterior enhancements, including updates to the dining room with refreshed décor and new seating, as well as patio and parking lot reconfiguration to better serve Guests,” Chick-fil-A, Inc. said in a statement to What Now Memphis.

The Union Avenue location has served the community for 16 years and is planning for a promising future.

Local owner-operator Justin Burkhead looks forward to continuing to serve the community with delicious food and remarkable service for years to come, according to the statement.

Still craving the famous chicken? Guests can visit nearby Chick-fila-A locations at 4916 Poplar Ave. and 4649 Summer Ave. while the Union Avenue shop is closed.
