A java spot dedicated to exploring the power of community and caffeine is nearing its official Memphis debut. Cxffeeblack is getting ready for its grand opening, set to occur later this month, reports Daily Memphian.
Cxffeeblack will be bringing java drinks and so much more to 3386 Bowen Avenue. The certificate of occupancy granted to the coffee shop by the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development shows that the cafe will have an occupant load of 99. The concept is on track for a December 12-14 grand opening.
Cxffeeblack’s new 1,600 square foot storefront is poised to be the revolutionary cafe’s headquarters. Cxfeeblack is more than just a java house, it is a revolution. The website explains: “Cxffeeblack is a community-oriented, multi-disciplinary, education-based coffee company. Founded in 2019, by husband and wife team, Bartholomew Jones and Renata Henderson, this social enterprise is on a mission to return coffee to its African roots and in the process create an equitable Black future. Cxffeeblack became a trailblazer in the coffee industry by creating an entirely all Black coffee supply chain from Ethiopia to Memphis, TN, the first of its kind.”
