A fast-growing Filipino chicken chain is set to open a new Memphis area location.

According to the eatery’s social media pages, Kukuruku Chicken will debut in Bartlett at 5985 Stage Rd, Suite 9, with a grand opening scheduled for later this year. What Now Memphis previously reported on this expansion, but the exact address had not been disclosed at that time.

Franchisee Roque “Rocky” Estipona, a local physical therapist, told What Now Memphis that the upcoming eatery is a joint venture between him and a partner group. Dr. Estipona launched the original Lakeland eatery in March 2023 and has ambitious plans for expansion.

In addition to the Bartlett site, he has another location in the works in East Memphis, slated to open just in time for Thanksgiving. Estipona mentioned he’s also exploring additional sites on Goodman Rd, Highway 51, Midtown, and Southaven, with hopes to eventually expand nationwide.

The Kukuruku menu features an assortment of crispy chicken choices like tenders and sandwiches, alongside homestyle spaghetti, various sides, and a wide range of boba milk teas.

Stay tuned for updates on the upcoming Kukuruku Chicken locations.
