In late 2023, What Now Memphis reported that a hip-hop-inspired cookie franchise would be launching its first two Tennessee locations in the Memphis area. Following the opening of one of those spots, more details have emerged about the second.
After debuting their first Cookie Plug location in Germantown last summer, franchisees Nathalie and Hector Garcia are now planning their second site in downtown Memphis at 150 Peabody Pl, Suite 118, in the former RawGirls space.
“We fell in love with the urban and hip-hop theme of the brand and the whole concept it represents,” Nathalie told What Now Memphis. “We decided to open another store downtown, close to the world-renowned Beale Street, in the heart of Memphis, to bring a fresh hip hop vibe to the city while offering delicious desserts in a unique and energetic atmosphere. “
Founded in Los Angeles, California in 2019, Cookie Plug is known for its thick, cake-like cookies—part cake, part brownie, part cookie—affectionally dubbed “phatties.” The brand is also recognized for its hip-hop street graffiti aesthetic.
At the upcoming 805-square-foot location, guests can look forward to Cookie Plug’s signature treats, including classic flavors like the OG (chocolate chip) and Cookie Cookie Cream, alongside creative cookies such as the Firecracker (s’mores) and Pink Elephant (strawberry cheesecake).
The menu also features keto-friendly options, mini cookies, and packs ranging from four to 40 cookies.
Cookie Plug is slated to open in downtown Memphis in late February or early March 2025, pending permits.
