A popular pizza chain is getting ready to take a fresh slice out of Memphis. Marco’s Pizza has filed the papers for a new Winchester Road location, helmed by a seasoned franchisee.
The Ohio-based pizzeria will be setting up shop at 7915 Winchester Road, Suite 102. A commercial alteration permit issued to Marco’s by the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development shows that the restaurant will occupy a ground floor storefront spanning 1,498 square feet with an occupant load of 14.
Area pizza fanatics can rest assured that they are in good hands with the Winchester Road establishment; Marco’s new Memphis location will be led by local multi-franchisee Lee Smith.
An opening timeline isn’t presently available for the new location, however the commercial alteration permit is listed as “ready to issue” as of October 22, suggesting that while progress is being made, there may still be a bit of a wait ahead. A commercial mechanical permit has been issued as of December 9, and a sign permit application is under review. While this hardly provides a comprehensive projection of when, precisely, Winchester Road will be alive with the smell of hot, delicious pizza, it does show that the pizzeria is moving steadily through the permitting process, giving future regulars reason to get excited.
Italian native Pasquale “Pat” Giammarco founded Marco’s Pizza in Oregon, Ohio in 1978. Bolstered by a delicious and varied menu, the chain has earned multiple awards and accolades. Guests can look forward to choosing from a vast selection including magnifico pizzas, specialty pizzas, pizzoli (pizzas wrapped into a convenient cone), pizza bowls, calzones, subs, wings, and salads.
