A Mexican-Japanese fusion restaurant is gearing up to open its fourth location in the area.

Signage for Sake vs Tekila was recently spotted at 100 Star Shopping Center St in Covington, at the former Billings Bald Butcher building. Sake vs Tekila already has successful locations in Whitehaven, Millington, and Cordova, as well as a mobile food truck.

Owner Jose Flores, who also operates the popular Margaritas Mexican Grill and Bar in Tipton County and West Tennessee, purchased the Covington property earlier this month, according to The Covington Leader.

Last year, Flores told What Now Memphis that Sake vs Tekila merges teppanyaki, sushi, and hibachi with the vibrant Mexican cuisine that defines his other establishments. Diners can look forward to unique dishes that combine the two cuisines in unexpected ways.

And true to its name, the restaurant will feature both tequila and sake, offering patrons a choice between the two signature drinks.

Stay tuned for opening day updates as this exciting project takes shape in Covington.
