For decades, Baby’s Coffee has been a tried and true stop for coffee for visitors and residents of Key West. Located on Mile Marker 15, the coffee shop has fueled countless numbers of people along the Florida Keys’ famed Overseas Highway.

Now, Baby’s Coffee is headed to the heart of Key West.

The shop recently filed permit applications with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation to open a shop at 518 Fleming Street, in the city’s famed Old Town. According to co-owner Carnella Bracciale, the new location should be serving Conch Republic locals and visitors in July 2026 — in time for the city’s annual Hemingway Days Festival.

Founded in 1991 by Gary and Olga Teplistky, Baby’s Coffee has become a destination for locals and visitors alike, known for roasting its own 100% Arabica coffee beans and producing popular blends including Key West Old Town Roast, Sexpresso and Baby’s Cuban Roast.

The business entered a new chapter in 2024 when Joe and Carnella Bracciale purchased the company, pledging to preserve its reputation while pursuing thoughtful growth. At the time, the owners announced plans to expand Baby’s presence in Key West, including a return to the city’s historic downtown area.

The Fleming Street location marks the company’s second store and gives coffee lovers another opportunity to enjoy what Baby’s calls its “Southernmost Coffee Roasters in America.” The new café is expected to serve the same freshly roasted coffees, espresso drinks and baked goods that have made Baby’s Coffee a Keys institution for more than three decades.
