Founded in 1977 by Apolonia Bermudez, El Palacio de los Jugos has grown to encompass ten locations in South Florida. The Cuban restaurant and juice bar has locations in Miami and Hialeah, and it appears to be preparing to launch a second Hialeah outpost. A recently submitted plan review shows a new El Palacio de los Jugos location opening at 1100 E Fourth Ave.
“El Palacio de los Jugos takes pride in preparing traditional, home-cooked Cuban recipes and the freshest tropical juices that taste just like abuelita’s cooking, bringing you back to your nostalgic roots,” says the Palacio website.
The El Palacio de los Jugos menu features a range of Cuban dishes organized largely by proteins like chicken, pork, and red meat. There are also sandwiches like the Media Noche, the Pan con Bistec, and the Cubano. And this only scratches the surface: there’s also Cuban pizza, breakfast, and a pasteleria menu.
On the juice side, some popular varieties include Naranja, Mamey, and Sandia (watermelon) juices. These go alongside coffee beverages, smoothies, shakes, and a variety of soft drinks.
What Now contacted Palacio de los Jugos owner Rey Bermudez this week to inquire about plans for a new Hialeah location. Bermudez was not available for comment.
