Located at 2389 Wilton Drive in Wilton Manors, the space that formerly housed Thai Me Up will soon be home to a new restaurant: Salvo Osteria Romana.

“We’re doing a lot of work finishing up construction,” owner Salvo Mule told What Now in a phone conversation on Tuesday.

Asked if he knew a precise date for opening, Mule said, with a smile in his voice, “Knowing that would be like winning the lottery.”

Still, as construction nears completion, it should be expected soon. Once it’s open, Mule says, you’ll be able to enjoy a wide range of Italian favorites.

The majority of dishes will be drawn from the cuisine of Rome, like the famous Cacio e Pepe (and lots of others), but this crowd-pleasing menu will most likely still have your favorite non-Roman Italian dish. There will be Sicilian-born eggplant parm, American-born chicken parm, and—perhaps most excitingly—pasta prepared at your table inside a wheel of parmigiano.

You can keep up with the opening by following Salvo Osteria Romana on Facebook.
