Barnes & Noble is writing a new chapter, with a bookstore planned for Midtown Miami in the former West Elm space.
The bookseller has signed a lease for a roughly 14,000-square-foot store at 3201 N. Miami Avenue at Collection at Midtown Miami. The shopping center’s website lists Barnes & Noble as “Coming Soon” and says the store will feature the company’s modern design along with a full-scale B&N Café. The store is expected to open in October 2026.
The new bookstore comes as Barnes & Noble continues an unlikely brick-and-mortar resurgence. The company operates approximately 700 bookstores across the United States, according to the Midtown shopping center. In addition to books, its stores carry toys, games, magazines, vinyl records, stationery and gifts. Barnes & Noble also operates its NOOK digital business, SparkNotes, and stationery and gift retailer Paper Source.
The Midtown location will join a retail lineup that includes Target and Dick’s Sporting Goods. The live/work neighborhood of Midtown Miami also includes several rental high rise buildings, a Trader Joe’s, open greenspace, and an array of restaurants. The location is conveniently located near the Design district, Wynwood, and I-95, making it a desirable place to live and shop.
