D Spot Dessert Cafe is embarking on a Montreal opening. The brand, known for its massive Belgian waffles, loaded crepes, and fine Belgian chocolate creations, has Ottawa listed as “Coming Soon!” on its website.
But D Spot Dessert Cafe does not yet have an address listed. We suspect the new cafe is a ways away from opening and will likely open in 2027.
What Now Montreal reached out to Chief Executive Officer and President Kaan Sayiner to find out more about the exciting new opening and further expansion plans. Unfortunately, we did not hear back by the time of this publication.
“Established in 2014, D Spot brought an entirely new wave of excitement to the world of desserts,” the D Spot Dessert Cafe website reads.
“One of a kind and always delicious, D Spot is truly your one stop dessert shop. Today, given our long line-ups and social-media-worthy dishes, we have decided to grow across Canada to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth.”
D Spot Dessert Cafe was founded in 2014 by Samir Desai in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, starting as a single flagship store known for social-media-friendly, over-the-top sweets. The brand began franchising the concept in 2017, which accelerated its growth across Canada to more than 55 locations. In 2026, D Spot made its U.S. debut, appointing Sayiner as CEO and President in June 2026, followed by the opening of the first American location on July 11, 2026, at 3432 E. Hebron Parkway in Carrollton (near Dallas), Texas, operated by franchisees Abdul Khan and Faizan Mirza.
Specializing in handmade ice cream, scratch-made cakes, daily house-made batters for Belgian waffles and crepes, milkshakes (24+ varieties), milk cakes, and croffles, the brand continues to grow. Larger storefronts also serve casual savory foods like burgers, pizza, pasta, wings, and poutine.
This will be the first D Spot opening in Montreal and the Ottawa area.
D Spot Dessert Cafe is anticipated to open in Ottawa by next year.
(This is a developing story. As more information is made available, we will update this article. Stay tuned!)
