The Daddy’s Dogs ownership plans to venture beyond gourmet hot dogs and add a new business to their portfolio: a bar coming to East Nashville.

The new concept, Gramps Garage Bar, will be located at 2913 A Gallatin Pike, according to a filed Metro permit.

“It’s going to be like you’re drinking in your grandpa’s garage,” said Sean Porter, the founder and owner of Gramps Garage Bar and Daddy’s Dogs.

Porter said he has wanted to open a bar for a while, calling it “every early-twenties dude’s dream.”

“I’ve had the idea for a while, so I decided I’d keep my eye open for a spot,” Porter said. “A spot became available, and the pieces fell into the right puzzle.”

The team is still in the early stages of the process, so Porter said there is no timeline for opening at the moment.

Since 2015, Porter and the Daddy’s Dogs team have brought unique gourmet hot dogs to the Nashville area. The business started with a hot dog cart before growing to three carts as well as six physical locations in the Nations neighborhood, in Printers Alley, at Sixth and Peabody, in GEODIS Park, in Nissan Stadium and in Franklin. They also have plans to add a new indoor dining location as well as a Daddy’s Dogs spot outside of Nashville, in addition to Gramps Garage Bar.

“We’re excited to be part of East Nashville, and I’m really excited to further ingrain myself in the Nashville community as a whole,” Porter said. “I’m really excited about that area and all the things that are coming to the Inglewood and East Nashville area. It’s going to be a really fun time, and I can’t wait to get going.”
