West Nashville’s Punk Wok to Shutter This Weekend

Punk Wok is located at 4101 Charlotte Ave., Suite G-20, in the Sylvan Supply development. It will close October 25.

The restaurant describes itself as an independent, punk rock-inspired izakaya and sushi bar. Its menu features sushi, dim sum and other Asian-inspired dishes. The Punk Wok team announced the closure in a social media post.

The team stated, “Punk Wok has been a dream project and true labor of love for our family.”

They thanked the community and customers for their support and invited them to stop by “for a final toast and taste this week.”

51 North Taproom Announces Closure

Located at 704 51st Avenue N, Nashville, 51 North Taproom is a community favorite bar and taproom. It offers 30 rotating taps of craft beers, along with craft beer bottles and cans, and several non-alcoholic options. Its beverage menu also includes wine and cocktails.

With a social media announcement, the bar owners, Jamy Borda and Will Shuff, shared the 51 North Taproom closure news. The taproom will close December 13, ending its 10 years in The Nations neighborhood.

In the post, the owners stated that the past year has been very challenging, which made the bar operations unsustainable for them.

“These are really tough times for everyone, and it is heartbreaking that our town is losing so much of its character. Independent businesses are what make our city unique, and they are disappearing,” added the owners.

They encouraged the community to visit the restaurant and enjoy their favorite drink and meal one more time before its permanent closure.
