Van Leeuwen Ice Cream appears to have a third location coming to Nashville at 335 11th Avenue S, according to a recent permit filing. This will join locations already revealed for the city at Edgehill and Neuhoff.

The brand has been expanding rapidly in different markets, with locations across multiple states in various stages of development. Van Leeuwen first opened in New York City in 2008 in a yellow ice cream truck. The brand, founded by Ben and Pete Van Leeuwen and Laura O’Neill, is known for its specialty ice cream flavors such as buttermilk berry cornbread, dulce de leche brownie and lemon poppyseed muffin.

Van Leeuwen also offers vegan ice cream scoop options. The brand is centered around the concept of using simple ingredients in its ice cream recipes.

“As far as we’re concerned, happiness is healthiness,” the Van Leeuwen website states. “What could be happier than that magic combination of milk, cream, eggs and cane sugar (or coconuts, cashews and oats for our vegan friends)? Yes, our ice cream has fat. And that’s okay. It’s good-good, not good-bad.”

The Nashville locations will join the already more than 70 locations in operation across nine states and Washington, D.C. It is expected to join other markets such as Charlotte and Atlanta soon.

As of now, an opening timeline remains unclear for  the 11th Avenue location. A company spokesperson previously told What Now Nashville that more information regarding Nashville openings is still to come.
