Tex-Mex restaurant Barrio Burrito Bar is gearing up to open two new locations in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The fast-casual restaurant’s new location at 10330 Airline Highway is expected to open between mid-July and early August, while the 7707 Bluebonnet Blvd location is expected to open in about a month, according to the company’s website.
Master Franchisee, Marc Johnson, told What Now New Orleans the Airline location will be a standalone restaurant attached to CC’s Coffee House. The Mexican restaurant is known for its bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and customizable burritos, bowls, and tacos. “Barrio Burrito Bar, it’s a new brand coming to the US that’s full of flavor, fresh ingredients. It’s a fun and inviting atmosphere. We’ve got 10 different proteins, eight to 10 different sauces,” said Johnson.
Customers can build their perfect burrito, bowl, or taco from a wide variety of proteins, toppings, and house-made salsas, including fan favorites like Bang-Bang Shrimp, Crunchy Chicken, and Extreme Fries.
He said Baton Rouge is a dynamic market in Louisiana, citing a college and local businesses. Johnson added they are proud to be a part of the new landscape.
The company operates 405 restaurants in Canada under the brand barBURRITO, and entered into the US market as BURRITOBAR in 2020 and rebranded to Barrio Burrito Bar in 2024.
