It appears that the highly anticipated Surge Entertainment Center in Baton Rouge is set to open in a few weeks’ time as the city is set to take up a rezoning request that would allow for the serving of alcohol at its location at 5555 Burbank Drive.
Set in a former Winn Dixie, the Surge Entertainment Center is designed to provide entertainment and activity for all ages. Its 60,000 sq. feet will include bowling, various sports simulators, rock climbing, laser tag, an arcade, a restaurant and a full bar. If the menus at other locations are any indication, expect the menu in Baton Rogue to include burgers, nachos, wings, pizza, soups, and salads. Naturally, a kid’s menu is de rigueur at all current Surge locations.
The Baton Rouge location would be the fifth entertainment center from the company, which was co-founded by Drew Brees. Other Surge Entertainment Centers are located across Louisiana in Bossier City, Lafayette, Metairie and West Monroe. The parent company, Surge Entertainment by Drew Brees, also owns a series of indoor adventure parks across the South that feature trampoline parks, kid-friendly trapezes, ninja courses and more. According to a press release from Surge Entertainment, it is the fastest-growing entertainment chain in the United States.
