You’ve probably heard of virtual restaurants or “ghost kitchens”, but a new restaurant concept planned for the Hilton Garden Inn in the Central Business District is taking virtual food service to a whole new level.

Oasis Food Hall by CAMO is a “virtual food hall” offering many different restaurant concepts under one virtual roof. After entering the restaurant, customers can use a touchscreen kiosk to order food from one of several different restaurant concepts and pay for their order. Orders are then prepared in a kitchen and placed on trays or to-go boxes. Employees then call out order names for guests to pick up their food. Front-of-house employees occasionally bus tables to keep the dining area clean. At the Oasis Food Hall in Anaheim, Calif., nine different restaurant concepts are available, serving Chinese, Tex-Mex, Mediterranean and other cuisines. An opening date for the New Orleans location planned for the Hilton hotel at 821 Gravier St. has not been set.

Oasis Food Hall and other modern hospitality concepts from CAMO have proven popular, and the company is currently looking to expand into markets across the US, according to a press release.
