A dual concept that combines high-end billiards and kid-friendly entertainment is slated to open in Ascension Parish this fall. The Billiard Brothers is currently under construction in the Tanger Outlets in Gonzales.
The 9,500-square-foot facility will feature professional-grade tables available for $5 per person per hour, alongside dedicated gaming stations equipped with Xbox and PlayStation consoles. To maintain a family-oriented environment, the pool hall will not offer alcohol sales.
Co-owner Will White is a billiards industry veteran who has decades of experience installing and maintaining pool tables. His upcoming concept is meant to be a sharp departure from the smoke-filled, tavern-style halls often associated with the sport. He plans to hold a weekly family night with Christian rock music and start a youth league sanctioned by the Billiards Congress of America.
“I’m going to be focused on serving on families and older youth,” he recently told What Now New Orleans. “In Ascension Parish, from 9th to 12th grade, there’s 7,500 kids, and there’s nowhere for them to really go. They will be able to hang out, learn some pool etiquette, and learn some social skills that they can use down the road.”
The retail side of the business will serve as an authorized dealer for prestigious brands including Olhausen, Brunswick, and Diamond. Beyond sales, White and his team will offer installations and custom game room consultations.
If final permitting and construction remain on schedule, White is targeting an opening date for mid-fall, ideally to capture holiday spending. Ultimately, the co-owner sees the project as a necessary investment in the social fabric of the parish.
“We need the community support, especially if we’re not selling alcohol,” White said. “Most of these places, that’s how they survive, is alcohol sales. I’m trying to do something different and show the world that we don’t have to just sell alcohol to make a business like this work.”
