Chelsea’s Restaurant & Bar to Shut Doors After Five Years
Based at Onondaga Hill, the casual upscale food establishment has been serving the NY crowd for five years. In its short culinary stint, the New York restaurant cum bar delighted guests with its jalapeno poppers and shrimp riggies along with wine, desserts, and cocktails.
However, Chelsea’s Restaurant & Bar will bid adieu to Syracuse on June 28.
Official Statement from Owner
Reflecting on the past five years, owner Marty Richardson shared, “Throughout this time, we had the opportunity to work with an amazing crew, meet many wonderful customers, and make countless incredible friends. Moreover, we had the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop new ideas.”
The owner took the time to post this update on Facebook. Admitting the rewarding chapter, Richardson said it was time to move on.
Lannie’s Tavern to Debut in July
While the news of Chelsea’s exit might sadden loyal foodies, a new name is awaiting its debut to replace the five-year-old food establishment. Heather Van Hoose, the manager at Chelsea’s, along with her husband, Adam, will replace the eating spot with Lannie’s Tavern.
The newest food facility will make its debut in New York in mid-July this year.
History of Reinventions at Chelsea’s Location
The replacement of Chelsea’s is not the only reinvention that Syracuse has seen through the years. Instead, the spot was first home to Kelley’s, which held 37 years of culinary experience. The hangout place closed in 2020, and Chelsea’s Restaurant & Bar came to the area.
While one beloved food place steps out, another gets in the picture, taking forward the culinary legacy at Onondaga Hill.
