In a tradition that has continued for over two centuries in New York City, the Intrepid Museum brings back the annual celebration of men and women in uniform. Starting May 23, NYC residents can enjoy multiple displays, musical acts, and demos from the armed forces.

The Fleet Week event is a means to express gratitude and recognize the contributions of the U.S. military. Every year, the non-profit museum, which has the WWII aircraft carrier Intrepid, welcomes millions of attendees from not just NYC but also from across the world.
The historic event will allow visitors to learn about the U.S. forces through exhibitions, immersive displays, military competitions, and STEM programs. The 5-day event will be weaving its magic from May 23.

To keep visitors entertained since the first day of Fleet Week NYC, organizers are bringing a ‘Top Gun’ premiere on May 23. Attendees will get to watch the classic with their loved ones on the flight deck. Fleet Week’s organizers have allowed the visitors to come with their blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets.
To make things fun, Cat Shot Café, an initiative by the organizers, will be offering snacks and refreshments for the NYC crowd.
Timing and Venue
Attendees from inside and outside New York can enjoy the movie for free along the visually stunning Hudson River. The timing for the first day movie activity will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Fleet Week organizers will open the doors for attendees at 6:00 p.m.
Meet Officers, Participate in Workshops, and Watch Pier 86 Take the Center Stage

Starting from its second day on May 24, Fleet Week will allow the residents and visitors of NYC to participate in multiple military competitions and activities.
Firstly, attendees can meet officers from the Coast Guard, the Air Force, the Marine Corps, and the Army. Each of these meet-and-greet activities will allow them to learn about their tactical vehicles, rescue methods, and protective gear. Watching the men and women in uniform closely will further reflect the valor of the U.S. forces.
A major attraction at Fleet Week 2025 will be a demo by the SeaPerch underwater vehicle. Through the initiative of the U.S. Naval Academy, along with the Naval STEM Coordination Office, attendees can participate in competitions focused on remote-controlled undersea vehicles.
The NYC crowd can also find details about service dog training through demos by the Guide Dog Foundation. Through Fleet Week, they can also learn about CPR from the American Red Cross and write a note of thanks to any military member.
Apart from these, the Navy and Coast Guard will allow children between 10 and 17 to participate in games, win prizes, and see tactical gear demos. Plus, the students can meet learners and instructors of the Aero Flight School and compete in aviation-based games.
Be it hands-on submarine-based activities or making cross-link polymer gel, Fleet Week NYC will present a host of other exciting activities for the crowd. These activities will continue on both May 24 and May 25.
Apart from the learning part of the event, the guests can find the amazing Disney booth, which will offer them coloring activities, including Aladdin and The Lion King. This activity will be there on May 24 and 25. Attendees, under the guidance of Disney teaching artists, will get to participate in a coloring activity for the entire three days on Broadway.
Other workshops and activities will cover creating Corsair paper airplanes and Morse code bracelets. The NYC attendees can also get to see Education Touch Collection’s artifacts.
On May 26, residents and visitors can try the Marine Corps’ tactical protective gear. Additionally, the NYC crowd can also operate EOD robots. The underwater vehicle demo, SeaPerch, will be another major attraction on May 26.
Additionally, children can participate in the photo ops activity at Disney’s ELIO booth. Fleet Week’s organizers will also allow attendees to enjoy the night sky through stories about science by the Planetarium Guy.
Pier 86 will be a common attraction on May 24, 25, and 26.
