Some good news is coming to my fellow night owls and lovers of all-day breakfast.
Gracie’s On Second is a popular diner located at 300 East 86th Street. A 24-hour full service restaurant, Gracie’s is owned and operated by Steve Nikolakos, a longtime New Yorker with decades of experience in hospitality. Serving everything from breakfast specialties to pizza, Gracie’s makes sure to have something on its menu for every guest. Guests enjoy an eclectic variety of different options, like roast chicken, pasta, Greek specialties, Mexican cuisine, French desserts, seafood, and classic American staples like Seafood.
Now, Steve is preparing a major transition for Gracie’s, which will see its East 8th Street site closing down and reopening in a brand new location. Steve will be moving his diner a few blocks north, reopening in a bigger space at 1633 Second Avenue. The new Gracie’s will be replacing Mexicoma, a popular Mexican restaurant whose lease was recently acquired by Steve after shutting down their operation.
The location will offer Steve even more space to bring his diner to exciting new heights. The location boasts enough space to seat about 33 guests as well as an additional 18 guests around the diner’s central counter. Most excitingly, the space also features an enclosed cafe that offers an additional 21 seats. Steve is currently in the process of acquiring a liquor license for his new space, which will thankfully remain a 24-hour restaurant. While the transition is still a ways off, be sure to visit the current Gracie’s to get a look at the space before its too late.
