The dining scene in New York is diverse and exciting, and these experiences are soon to be elevated. Dear Margo is opening this week on the Upper East Side, bringing something new to the city. Restaurateur Dean Pashalis is bringing his decade of experience and is opening Dear Margo, which is named after his grandmother.

Pashalis brings his love for Mediterranean food to the neighborhood. “Margo” also means “pearl” in Greek, which reflects his aim of making it a favorite among locals. The restaurant will be located at 961 Lexington Avenue and will open on March 25, 2026.

Signature Dishes and Dining Experience

Executive Chef Efraim “Efi” Naon will lead the kitchen at Dear Margo. He brings his expertise in Eastern Mediterranean cooking to guests, offering beloved classics. The menu features freshly baked laffa bread that is served with spreads like baba ghanoush and hummus.

The menu also includes shareable small plates, skewers, salads, bowls, and pita sandwiches. The beverage program offers wines, sangrias, spritz-style cocktails, and mocktails.

Design that Elevates the Unique Vibe

Demetris Charalambous has designed the 1,800 square feet space inside. The design blends earthy textures with modern touches and seats 65 guests indoors.

Accordion glass doors separate the space from the outdoor dining area. It opens during warmer seasons and expands the seating to up to 100. The restaurant will open seven days a week from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and will offer lunch and brunch services in the coming days.

Dear Margo’s opening adds another exciting option to the Upper East Side dining scene. Its focus on Eastern Mediterranean flavors and welcoming atmosphere make it poised to become a go-to neighborhood spot for locals and visitors alike.
