Longtime pastry chef Camari Mick is currently searching for spaces in Manhattan for a new concept. Mick is partnering with Brittney “Stikxz” Williams of East Village Jamaican restaurant Miss Lily’s to bring the forthcoming concept, L’Atelier Ébène, to life.

L’Atelier Ébène, which translates to “the ebony workshop,” will merge French techniques with Afro-Caribbean food. Expect to see an Afro-Caribbean brasserie with menu items like jerk lobster thermidor, coconut canelés and cassava Madeleines, according to Eater NY.

Prior to starting out on this venture, Mick was part of Eleven Hospitality Group, serving as executive pastry chef at concepts like Raf’s and the Musket Room. She has been making waves in recent years, gaining acclaim for her work from multiple organizations. She received recognition as the Best New Chef by Food & Wine in 2024 and an Outstanding Pastry Chef Semifinalist by the James Beard Foundation in 2025.

As of now, there is no word yet on when L’Atelier Ébène might open. The project is still in the early stages of development.

Mick confirmed the concept in a brief phone call with What Now New York but was unable to immediately provide further details at the time.
